The STAGES Assessment Supports Intermediate to Later Stages of Adult Development and Awareness

What is Stage Development?

Since Piaget’s study of child development in the 1920's, psychologists, educators, and parents have come to a valuable understanding that children develop in their ability to perceive time, space, relationships and in their abilities to conceptualize and prioritize. Over the past fifty years substantial research has shown that adults can continue to evolve in similar and even more complex ways. For example, healthy adults can imagine, set and achieve goals. If they develop further they can also become self-aware, self-reflective and emotionally intelligent. From there they can understand how global systems are interdependent and how their behaviors impact future generations. Those who continue to develop can perceive the constructed nature of reality.

A number of researchers have contributed to this new knowledge. One of them, Terri O'Fallon, was my colleague at Pacific Integral from 2006 - 2016. A curious and compassionate educator for sixty years, Terri researched and developed the Stages framework which maps individual human consciousness development from birth through the most advanced stages of human awareness. Her STAGES assessment can identify your current stage of development.

Having assisted with the research and received certification to score and debrief this assessment, I have had an opportunity to see the ways in which having this information has supported the growth of hundreds of people. Through an awareness of how your own current individual development and humanity's collective development evolve you can discover where you are on the path of human evolution and you can learn what next steps to take to further your growth and awakening.

For more information on the model or to take the assessment - visit STAGES International. For information on how to apply it to society visit the Resources page on this site and read the articles on stages of consciousness and development.

Certified STAGES Assessment Practitioner Partner

I am certified by STAGES International to use the STAGES model of human development in my work with clients. I believe it is an excellent informative model that provides a detailed account of how people develop through their lives and through their engagement in the world.

The STAGES model of human development was created by Terri O’Fallon PhD based on more than 12 years of rigorous research, which is ongoing. STAGES Assessment is the survey tool through which an individual’s current level of development can be determined. I use the STAGES Assessments in my work with clients because it allows me to support clients effectively in their development.

To attain certification from STAGES International, I completed a rigorous course of training that included a period of supervision. This rigorous process ensures that I have mastered the STAGES Assessment process. For more information about the STAGES model please visit the STAGES International website.
